In 1884 Sotirios Voulgaris, a Greek jeweller who had already created a successful career in his home town set up his second shop outside of his home village. This shop was to be located in Rome.
From here he created jewellery designs that were a mixture of Roman and Greek art. By 1905 his flagship store via dei Condotti opened and it was an instant draw for the rich and famous, all of who wanted to own some of the amazing jewellery that was being sold there.
By the 1970’s there were Bvlgari stores in Paris, New York, Geneva and Monte Carlo and the brand was huge. By 2001 the company joined with Marriott International and began opening hotels and spas.
Bvlgari Perfumes
In 1994 the Bvlgari brand released its first female fragrance – Bvlgari perfume which was a floral scent which was elegant and understated and an instant hit with the perfume buying public.
This was followed in 1998 by Bvlgari Black which was a day time fragrance. Bvlgari went on to produce many more fine fragrances for women which include Omnia Green Jade, Rose Essentielle and many more. Rose Essentielle is a very expensive fragrance as it is made from rose oil – which requires a ton of rose petals to make a single ounce.
So as you can see, it is a very costly fragrance and due to this many people buy testers of this perfume rather than a full bottle.
Bvlgari launched its first men’s cologne Bvlgari in 1995 and this is a woody, spicy scent that oozes quality and luxury. Aqua Marine for Men was released in 2008 to an eager audience who wanted a fresh and youthful cologne.
Bvlgari also produce Bvlgari Pour Homme Extreme, Bvlgari Pour Homme Marine and several more after shave splashes and colognes.
Other Bvlgari Products
As well as producing some of the world’s finest fragrances Bvlgari also still produce jewellery and this is thought to be some of the most stunning in the world. Each year new pieces are added to collections and the Bvlgari brand still retains its place as one of the world’s most luxurious brands.
