Established in 1946 by husband and wife duo Joseph Lauder and Estee Lauder the Estee Lauder brand has extensive ranges of perfumes, cosmetics, skincare and hair care products.
Estee Lauder only had 4 products when they launched which were Skin Lotion, Creme Pack, Super-Rich All Purpose Creme and Cleansing Oil. After two years Estee Lauder took on an account at Saks of Fifth Avenue and their success began.
By 1960 Estee Lauder products were being sold all over the world with offices in Hong Kong and an account in the exclusive London store Harrods. Today Estee Lauder fragrances and products are sold in all good department stores in most countries in the world.
Fragrances
Youth Dew was the first perfume that was released by Estee Lauder in 1953 and it was an instant hit. Youth Dew is fragranced with spices, woods and exotic flowers and it is a scent that many people remember from their childhood.
This was originally a perfume that was also a bath oil and women all over the world went crazy for it, selling 50,000 bottles in its very first year. In 1984 the annual figure for the number of bottles being sold worldwide was 150,000,000!
The Estee Lauder fragrance ranges are huge and Youth Dew is still popular today. One of the other most popular perfumes by Estee Lauder for women is Beautiful. This was followed by Beautiful Love and Beautiful Sheer which are variations on this classic scent. White Linen is another well known fragrance by Estee Lauder and this also, as many of the fragrances also do, has its own body lotion and crème.
There are of course many more Estee Lauder fragrances for men and women and there are new products such as Sensuous being the most recent.
Products
In 1964 Aramis Inc was set up to create grooming products and fine fragrances for men. This was a massive success and by 1968 Estee Lauder had set up their Clinique lab which created allergy and fragrance free skincare products.
These grooming products, skincare and hair care ranges are still being produced each year and Re-Nutriv a collection of skin enhancing products is one of their best sellers.
