History of Giorgio Armani

Founded in 1975 by Giorgio Armani the Armani fashion house is one of the most well known fashion labels in the world.
In his early Giorgio Armani was a window dresser who got into fashion designing. Today the name Armani represents high quality clothing that is both elegant and sophisticated and a fantastic range of perfumes and fragrances for men and women.
Armani employs thousands of people around the globe and the label shows no signs of slowing down with new collections being introduced every year.
Giorgio Armani Perfumes
Giorgio Armani released his first perfume in 1982 which was called Giorgio by Giorgio Beverley Hills. However it was 1982 that the very first Armani branded fragrance for women was created, this was called Armani. Today this perfume is no longer in production.
In 1984 the first men’s Armani fragrance was released, called Armani Eau Pour Homme. Both of these initial Armani brand fragrances were an instant hit and are still being sold today.
During the 1990’s the Armani fragrance collection expanded even more with Gio and Acqua Di Gio which were in simple square bottles with soft edges.
In 1998 Armani released the iconic He and She duo fragrances, these were under the Emporio Armani name and went on to also become best sellers. These fragrances were reworked in 2001 and White He and White She were introduced to the market. Due to their success, what were originally intended to be summer fragrances were put into permanent production.
From here several more fragrances were released which include Sensi, Sensi White, Armani Mania Pour Femme and Pour Homme. The most recent additions to the Armani fragrance catalogue are Emporio Armani Diamonds for women and Emporio Armani for men.
