The History of Gucci
Gucci was set up in 1921 by Guccio Gucci who was a designer and who opened his first shop in Italy. By 1938 the Gucci empire had expanded to Rome and a boutique was opened.
By 1947 Gucci had created the bamboo handled bag which is still one of the company’s iconic products. Guccio Gucci died in 1953 and his sons took over the business.
However in the 1970’s the company was threatened with bankruptcy due to arguments within the family. Thankfully by the 1980’s the fortunes of Gucci had turned around and it was once again one of the biggest labels in the world.
Gucci Fragrances
All of the Gucci fragrances that are available are modern scents that appeal to contemporary women. This is one of the most important issues to the brand as it sets itself apart from the crowd for producing fragrances that can be worn at anytime and anywhere. Not only that but Gucci fragrances are instantly recognisable as they are so unique.
The first fragrance to be launched by Gucci was Gucci no 1 in 1974, this sold well and was one of the most popular fragrances of the time as many fashion enthusiasts wanted to add to their Gucci collections with a fragrance.
This was followed by Gucci no 3 in 1985 which also sold well and continues to do so today. From here there have been many Gucci fragrances for men and women that are massively popular. Gucci Envy and Envy for Men are very well known all over the world and are thought to be the signature fragrances for the Gucci name.
The most recent fragrances to be released by Gucci are Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme in 2008 and Gucci Flora in 2009. Both of these scents are in keeping with the Gucci ideology of being contemporary yet exciting and fresh.
