Lancome

The Lancome brand was created in 1935 by Armand Petitjean who was a highly skilled perfume maker. Armand Petitjean’s dream was to create a brand that drew upon French style and elegance.

LancomeThe actual name Lancome originated from the name of a ruined castle La Chateau de Lancosme and the rose symbol of the brand represents the wild roses that grow in the area. In 1964 Lancome was taken over by L’Oreal.

Lancome Perfumes & Aftershaves

In 1935 Lancome released their first set of fragrances. These were Bocage, Tendres Nuit, Kypre and Conquete for women and Tropiques for men. Instantly these were sought after by the public who wanted to experience fine French fragrances themselves.

Lancome FragrancesOther perfumes followed in 1937 and 1947 but it was not until 1952 that one of the most well-known fragrances by Lancome was introduced. This perfume was Tresor and it was not only an instant success it is still one of the most popular perfumes by this brand today.

In 1969 O de Lancome was released and this too is still sold in stores all around the world. It is a light and pleasant fragrance they can be worn during the day or as a light night time fragrance.

The year 2000 saw the release of Miracle, a new fragrance for women. 2001 saw the release of Miracle Homme which was the male version of this popular fragrance. Miracle So Magic followed in 2004 and this is a lively version of the original Miracle perfume.

To date Lancome has released more than 25 perfumes and colognes and new products are being added on a regular basis. The brand is so popular as it creates perfumes that both men and women love and they all smell as though they have been created for each individual.

Other Lancome Products

Lancome have always been known for their fantastic make-up ranges as well as their amazing perfumes. In 1936 Nutrix, a skin refining and hydrating moisturiser was released to the public. This heralded the start of Lancome’s extensive skincare range.

Today Lancome perfumes, make up and skincare are sold all over the world and are still bestsellers.
